New school leader in Pontotoc

PONTOTOC - Adam Pugh, a former principal of South Pontotoc High School, has been hired as superintendent of the Pontotoc City School District.

The 19-year educator had previously been principal of Lafayette High School in Oxford for seven years.

Pugh received his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Mississippi State University. He is working on his doctorate from the University of Mississippi in August.

Pugh succeeds Superintendent Conwell Duke, who is retiring.
